Selma-Charles E. Meredith, 92, passed away Monday afternoon, May 19, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born on January 29, 1922, in Spiceland, the son of Jabez and Dora (Sulteen) Meredith.

Charles graduated from Chrysler High School in New Castle and married the love his life Sue Ann (Burchett) Meredith on September 24, 1954 in New Castle and she preceded him in death in 2005.  Mr. Meredith had worked as a Cutter/Grinder in the skilled trades of the Chevrolet Muncie Plant for 40 plus years retiring in 1986.   He proudly served in the Army Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant with the 231ist AAF Base Unit at the Alamogordo AA Field, New Mexico, piloted both B17 and B29 aircraft during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Brown, Milton and Marcella Kuhn (husband-George), Albemarle, North Carolina; two sons, Charles A. Meredith (wife- Bonnie), Middletown and Larry Meredith (wife-Victoria), Santa Rosa, California; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife of 51 years, Sue Ann, he is preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Kyle Kiser in 1991; , three sisters, Charlotte, Dora and Elizabeth; one brother, Don.
