Always an inquisitive and intelligent boy he went to school and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with honors. He also attended CSU.
During high school he held his first employment at Taco House as a front-line cook.
Charles found steady employment with “Best Brands” as a Sales Representative which he sold fine spirits and wines. During his career he had the opportunity to travel to the East Coast areas with Joanne Dunn (his partner) who proceeded him in death.
