Charles Earl Bowdry was born on January 19,1950, in Clarendon, Arkansas to his parents, Wallace and Eliza Bowdry.  He was the fifth child born to this union with his brothers, Adell, Herman, Bruce, and his sisters, Aster, Rosie, and Lois.  From his childhood, he was very active.  He liked riding his bike, hunting, fishing, and he absolutely loved working on cars.

Charles completed his formal education at the Clarendon George Washington Carver High School in the Arkansas School District.  He received his diploma in 1968.

Charles met Eloise McCullough in Holly Grove, Arkansas while in high school. Shortly after graduating high school, Charles moved to Denver, Colorado and started his family with Eloise.  On September 3, 1968, in Denver, Charles would marry Eloise.  To this union, one baby boy was born, Darryl Wayne Bowdry.  This marriage was later dissolved. Later, Charles met Cynthia Tidwell.  They became inseparable and on January 10, 2003, Cynthia and Charles became husband and wife.  To this union, one beautiful, loving baby girl was born, Ericka Bowdry.  The family shared many wonderful times together and overcame many obstacles.  Many years later, Charles was blessed with three grandchildren LeRoy, Delores, and Darryl, II, who all called Charles, “Grand Dad.”  Their love for their grandfather was second to none.

In his time of leisure, Charles loved playing Dominoes with his sister, Aster.

“To our loving brother, whom we will miss so much.

We pray that God keep him close to his heart.”

Charles is preceded in death by his daughter, Ericka Bowdry; his parents, Wallace, and Eliza Bowdry; and his brother, Adell Stewart.

On January 29, 2021, Charles Earl Bowdry entered into rest and left a legacy to be remembered by his loving wife, Cynthia Bowdry; his son, Darryl Bowdry; his brothers, Herman Bowdry, Bruce Bowdry; and his sisters, Aster O’Kain, Rosie Tate, and Lois Bowdry; three grandchildren, LeRoy Bowdry, Delores Bowdry, Darryl Bowdry, II; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and very close friends, including special friends, who will cherish his memory, Pat Sayasithsena, Susan Kim, Corey Pembrook, High School Principle Mr. Lloyd W. Black and all of Charles’ co-workers at United Airlines
