Charles E. (Red) Reeder, 86, of 365 St. Davids Road, died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Manor Care North following an extended illness.

Red and his wife, the former Iva O. Hendershot, observed their 56th anniversary on November 15, 2009.

Red retired from Bell Telephone in 1982 after 33 years and remained active in helping anyone with telephone needs or problems. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and served on the property committee and on Church Council.

Red was a 60 year member of Ivy Lodge #397, a 32nd Degree mason, a member of the Williamsport Consistory and enjoyed most sports. He was very involved with the Telephone Pioneers where he served as President for a number of years and worked on many projects. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Born July 23, 1923 in Lock Haven, he was the son of Charles E. and Lily Mae Kissell Reeder.

Surviving besides his wife are sons, Glenn D. Reeder of Haneyville, Stephan L. (Crystal) Reeder of Williamsport and Dr. John J. (Diane) Reeder of Summerville, S.C.; a step-son, Charles H. (Ingrid) Lee of Flagstaff, Ariz., a sister, Lois M. Hartzell of Long Island, N.Y.: five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
