Charles Edgar Long, Jr., age 101, passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Miramar Beach, FL. on March 19, 2014. Born June 26, 1912 in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Homes County, Mississippi, he attended Mississippi State University.
He saw active duty in the South Pacific during World War II as a young lieutenant in the U.S.
He was preceded in death by his third wife, Regina and is survived by his sons: James R. Long of Bellingham, WA., Thomas Long of Perth, Australia, and Steven Long of Huntsville, AL.; daughters: Mary Louise Long of Great Falls, MT. and Sophia Coleman of Tucson, AZ; step-daughter, Linda Percy of Ocala, FL., and brother, James F. Long of Niceville, FL.
