On August 25, 2015, Charles Corso passed away peacefully at 102 years of age.  Charles was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, a city that he loved.  His parents, Anthony Corso and Michela Mazza, were both born in Trapani, Sicily.  Charles survived his brothers, John and Leonard Corso, and his sister Theresa Corso.

After graduating from Tulane University, he met and married Leonora Cotogno.  They were married nearly 72 years when she passed away in 2013.  Their two daughters, Kathleen Hershberger (Roy) and Marie Andry (Earl) were the center of Charles’ life afterward.  They and his grandchildren, Jonell Daigle, Louis Earl Andry III, and Stephanie Waller and his 4 great grandchildren Jenna, Travis and Alyssa Andry and Kristin Waller will all miss him dearly.

Shortly after their marriage, when the United States joined World War II in 1941, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps.  He served as a weather officer in London in 1944 and a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany in 1945 and 1946.

Charles was an honest, hard-working man, whose quick wit and humorous outlook on life endeared him to family and friends throughout his 102 years.
