Charles E. “Bud” Rawlings, 77, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Prairie Village Healthcare Center. He was born Feb. 27, 1938, in rural Franklin, the son of Clarence and Dorothy Long Rawlings. He married Janet DeWitt in 1976, in Jacksonville, and they later divorced.

He is survived by his former wife, Janet, who has been his caretaker for years; three brothers and one sister, Jerry Rawlings of Waverly, John (Peggy) Rawlings of Barry, Mary K. (Arthur) Rouland of Waverly and Francis (Beverly) Rawlings of Jacksonville; and his extended family at Prairie Village.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence “Reggie” Rawlings.

Mr. Rawlings was the head mechanic for Baker Chevrolet in Murrayville and later in Auburn. He then worked for Narmont Machinery in Auburn for many years. He had also served in the Army National Guard. Bud and Janet had been caretakers at Camp Shagbark for the Girl Scouts at Lake Jacksonville for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening.
