Mr. Charles Drennon, Jr., age 81 of LaGrange, GA, formerly of Lanett, AL, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, GA.
Mr. Drennon is survived by his son, Freddie Tyson of Hot Springs, AR; his two daughters, Lynn (Jason) Prickett of Valley, AL and Tina Lott of LaGrange, GA; his son-in-law, Rex Stapp of Eatonton, GA; his special friend, Francis Snowden; his five sisters, Evie Mae Welcher-Dennis, Bobbie Sue Burke, Jeanne Johnson, Dorothy Snyder, and Mary Riley, all of Alexander City, AL; his brother, Stevie Mann of WY; his six grandchildren, Tyler Lott of Lanett, AL, Justin Tyson of Hot Springs, AR, Angela (Shane) Hurst of West Point, GA, Richard Stapp of Orlando, FL, Whitney (Brandon) Watson of Andalusia, AL, and Mallory Prickett of Montgomery, AL; his eight great grandchildren; and a host of other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Shirley Drennon; three brothers, Lonnie Mann, Johnny Mann, and Marvin Mann; daughter, Vickey Stapp.
Mr. Drennon was born on June 10, 1935 in Montgomery County, Alabama. He was of the Holiness faith. He worked for Hardaway Construction Company in Columbus, GA for many years. He helped build the Powerhouse at West Point Dam. He was creative and liked building things, including houses at one point. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved watching his grandson Tyler play baseball.
