Easley, SC; Charles David Lewis, 88 died Saturday, October 19, 2002.
Services will be Thursday (Oct. 24) at 11 a.m. at the Liberty Mortuary Chapel, Liberty, SC. Inurnment will follow at the Liberty Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Charles was born the son of John and Alice Jackling Lewis on May 13, 1914 in Gates, NY. He spent his school years in Newark, graduating from Newark’s old Washington High School, class of 1931. He retired from Rochester Community College.
Charles will be missed by his daughter Sheila Bonds of SC; son David Lewis of GA; daughter-in-law Ruby Bater Lewis of Churchville; sisters Dorothy Chapman of Palmyra and Frances (Roger) Clark of Newark; brothers Gilbert Lewis and Harry (Jeanne) Lewis both of Newark and Edwin Lewis of Geneva; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Charles was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy Heinrich Lewis and son Richard.
