Charles (CW) Bruce, age 95, of Dalton, Georgia passed away at home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. He was born on September 11, 1923. He was a resident of the Dawnville community for 70 years and he loved his farm. He was a World War II veteran and a Purple Heart recipient among other medals and will be given full military honors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Bruce; parents, Wade Bruce and Mamie Godfrey; and brother, Ed Godfrey. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Ray and Joyce Bruce of Dalton; daughters, Linda Brogdon of Dalton, Phyllis Bruce of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Charles Brogdon, Kevin Brogdon, Christy Tubbs Aitchison, Dale Bruce; brother, Winfred Godfrey; sisters, Irene Bridges, Mildred Barefield, Lula Johnson; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
