Charles “Chuck” Spring Jr.Age 83 of Corunna passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at McLaren Hospital in Flint.Funeral Services will be held 11am Saturday May 20, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Elders Jerry Mogg and Earl Watt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4pm to 8pm.Charles was born August 20, 1933 in Owosso, the son of Charles and Emily (Norcross) Spring.He graduated from Beecher High School, Class of 1953.Charles was a member of the Community of Christ. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He was a member of the Marine Corp League, VFW-Corunna, Kiwanis, the American Legion and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Charles was also a founding member of the 4th Continental Artillery group which reenacted the Revolutionary War.He married Mary Margaret “Peggy” Walton in Flint, Michigan on June 15, 1957.Charles retired from General Motors after 30 years as a supervisor and foreman.Charles is survived by his wife Mary; his children Charles (Amy) Spring III, Sally (Ronald) Armstrong, Mary (Dennis) Ferguson and Elizabeth (Todd) Dumond; grandchildren Nicholas Thompson, Briana Dumond, David Dumond, Joseph Bearup, Brandie Alexander, Sean Alexander, Joshua Armstrong, Ashten Mettler, Aaron Armstrong, Casey Wassenaar, Rachel Spring, and Charles Spring IV; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Robert Spring.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Community of Christ, the Marine Corps League or Toys for Tots.Online condolences may be sent to the family at Nelson-House.com
