Charles Lee (Chuck) Olson passed away in Hammond, Louisiana on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from complications of a non-Covid related lung infection. He was 54. He is preceded in death by his parents Maurice (Maury) and Patricia (Pat -“Ma”) Olson.

He is survived by his brother Rick (April) Olson, sister Lauri Boudreau, and the love of his life, Cathy Eason. His nephews Brad Illg (Amanda) and Zach Olson (Jasmine), his best friend Jason Belsome, the “Fort Dodge” cousins, “California” cousins, and many other cousins, where he made lifelong friends along with their families also mourn his loss.

Chuck was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa and grew up in Livermore, moved to Humboldt, Iowa and eventually settled in Hammond, Louisiana. While in Hammond, he became a part of Options Inc., a program that helps persons with disabilities to live and work in the community. With this program, Chuck was able to live on his own, make friends and enjoy events, programs and small work assignments. He made lifelong friends and also met his true love of 20 years, Cathy. Chuck never knew a stranger and loved meeting people. Chuck cherished life, worshipped God and talked to him daily. He had a kinship with animals and spoiled his cat, Prince. He will be remembered for his love of sports especially the Texas Longhorns brand, music, traveling to see his family, and his friends. We would like to thank Dr. Thaya, Dr. Fowlkes, and the amazing staff at North Oaks Medical Center ICU in Hammond for the exceptional and compassionate care they gave to our brother. “In another time, in a happier place, we will meet again.”
