Our brother Chuck left us unexpectedly on May 26, 2023. He was born in Pensacola, FL to Walter L and Phyllis R Byers on June 4, 1953.
Chuck lived the majority of his life in Alamogordo, NM where he spent most of his time as a musician writing and playing guitar, keyboard and harmonica. Chuck played a wide repertoire of country, jazz, blues, and rock and roll. He used to say “Playing such a variety can be a blessing and a curse! Sometimes if people can’t stick you in a nice pigeonhole, they just don’t know what to do with you.” Although he only released one album, “Long Time Coming”, in November of 2016, he wrote hundreds of songs. Chuck made lifetime friendships and was always willing to help out when he could.
Chuck is proceeded in death by his parents and leaves behind two sisters, Pati (Art) Beaulieu of Orlando, FL, Chris (Mike) Schultz of Alamogordo and one brother, Mike (Kim) Byers of La Luz, NM. He is also survived by several nieces and great nieces. We will miss his sense of humor, sarcastic jokes and of course his special biscotti at Christmas. Rest in Peace Chuck, your music plays on….
