Charles was born to Richard Boynton and Lethia Lavonne (Cloud) Hunter on August 25, 1958 in Socorro, NM. Charles and his family moved around quite a bit in his early childhood after losing his father when he was 2 years old. The brothers spent several years living with their aunt and uncle Cloud until moving to Vernon, CO with their mother when Charles was in the 6th grade in 1971. The family later moved to Wray where he attended high school.

After high school, he worked in the oil fields moving wherever there was work. He finally settled in Vernal, Utah where he met and married Betty Atwood in 1980. They moved and lived in and around Salt Lake City, Utah area where he worked for Sommers Salvage Yard.

In 2012, he moved back to Wray to help take care of his mother, also going to work for Richard Lapp at Slick Spot. In 2014, he married his close and dear friend Diana Thomas.

Chuck loved to work on vehicles, and he was a gifted mechanic. He could always figure out how to make whatever it was, run again. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting knives. He also loved the outdoors and especially loved the mountains. He always had a smile on his face and would help anyone out who asked him for help. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard Hunter Sr. and Lavonne Jones; stepfather Grant Jones; grandfather Herbert C. Hunter; grandmother Lois Fowler and uncle Robert G. Hunter.

Charles is survived by his wife Diana Thomas of Wray, CO; brother Richard Hunter and wife Nina of Wray, CO; grandmother Cleo Hunter of Bloomfield, NM; uncle John and aunt Ann Cloud; nephews Travis Hunter and wife Melisa, James Wills and wife Danielle; great nephews and nieces, Jillian, Jalen, and Jerren Hunter and Kyle and Ava Wills; cousins Sue and Royce Engler, Sandy and Lono Solos, Casey and Audry Cloud and Stacy and Matt Robbins.
