Charles “Chuck” Harmon, age 77, of Algona passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Kossuth Regional Health Center. The family is requesting that jeans and boots or any other casual clothing be worn in honor of Chuck. Charles Ernst Harmon was born on October 31, 1937 at home near Woden to Chester and Helen (Dole) Harmon. Chuck attended country school and graduated in 1955 from Algona High School. On September 17, 1955 Chuck was united in marriage to Betty Peirce at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Algona. Chuck was the owner of Minnowa Medical Supplies for 30 years. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. Chuck enjoyed being with his family, farming, NASCAR racing and he took great pride in his vehicles.

Left to cherish Chuck’s memory is his wife of 59 years, Betty of Algona; children: Charles Harmon of Algona and his children, Jacob, Isaac and Nicholas; Elizabeth Hurlburt of Algona and her children Heather, Nathaniel, and Jarod; Susan (George) Kellner of Bode and their children DeAnna, Angela, Katie, Steven, and Laura; Diana (Eric) Mogler of Bode and their children Amy, Brea and Cierra; Anthony (Tracy) Harmon of Algona and their children Hanna and Cassidy; and Mary (Sid) Hauptmann of Algona and their children Dylan, Zachary, and Olivia; and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Helen Harmon; brother, Richard Harmon; sister, Mary Jane Harmon; brother-in-law Robert Sheridan; sister-in-law Judy Harmon; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Kathryn Peirce and son-in-law, Dave Hurlburt.
