Chaz Lunsford, 26 years old, passed away unexpectedly on October 15th, 2022, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the loving son of Diana Marie Newell and Charles Truman Lunsford ll, and big brother to Cheyanne Ballou, Cayden Newell, and Nikole Lunsford. Chaz was born on November 22, 1995, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Chaz was a graduate of Cactus Shadows High School. He had a gorgeous smile, bright blue eyes, and a lightning quick sense of humor. He adored animals, especially cats. Chaz liked to skateboard, loved basketball, and was a phenomenal snowboarder. He LOVED music, liked to dance, and swim. He loved basketball, “gloving”, playing the guitar and spending time with his friends, whom he called his “brothers”. He had a heart of gold and constantly looked out for others. He was thoughtful, kind, and he always wanted to take care of everyone around him, especially his friends. He loved and protected the underdog.
He is survived by his mother and father, stepmom-Laurie, sisters; Cheyanne Ballou (Christian), Nikole Lunsford, Laura Nichols, and brother, Cayden Newell. Grandmothers; Connie Newell, Dawn DeFord, Sharon Russell (Noni) and Debbie Lunsford and Grandfathers; Steve Gowler (Pops) and Lee DeFord. Aunts and Uncles;- Sheila Skalf (Kevin), Sherri Bramwell, Eric Coates (Jessica), Cynthia Demeritte, Amanda Olson (Josh), Brandy Rolph (Jimmy), Melissa Peterson (Doug), Candice Causey (Wade), Ryan Gowler (Rhino), Samantha Calise (Mike), Travis Lunsford and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grandfathers; Charles Truman Lunsford, Gerald Wayne Newell, and William Gaylord Cottrell.
