Charles “Charlie” V. Dishon, 96, of Toms River, NJ died at home on November 22, 2018. Charlie was born in Seaside Park, New Jersey and lived on Pelican Island for more than 60 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran who completed a tour of duty in the Pacific. After returning home from the war, he worked as an auto mechanic for Walshak and Dillon in Toms River. A man of faith, Charlie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish of St. Junipero Serra in Seaside Heights and was a member of The American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking long walks on the Seaside beach and boardwalk, watching old movies especially Westerns, collecting model cars, and rooting for any team that was playing against the Yankees. Charlie was a devoted husband, loving father to six children and “PopPop” to several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Charlie is predeceased by his wife Rose A. Dishon, his daughter-in-law Irene Dishon, and his grandson Christopher Dishon.

Surviving are his children Charles M. Dishon of Toms River, NJ, Margaret Ann Superior and her husband Theodore of Toms River, NJ, Rita Marie Dishon of Forked River, NJ, James Dishon and his wife Caroline of Toms River, NJ, Robert Dishon and his wife Mu Chun of Atlantic City, NJ, and Thomas Dishon and his wife Deborah of Point Pleasant, NJ, his grandchildren Laura, Bill, Alicia, Rose, Amy, Becky, Ryan, Sarah, and Gina, and his nine great-grandchildren.
