Charles Ray Younger, 75, of Nampa, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 28, 2022. He was born to IF and Lucille Younger on December 6, 1946 in Decatur, Indiana. Charlie Younger was a kind Christian man who lived his faith every day of his life. He praised the Lord every day and he never made a big decision without praying about it first. He loved his wife, Patty, of fifty-five years and his two sons, their wives and his grandchildren. He was so proud of their accomplishments. He was a friendly guy who carried on a meaningful conversation with literally everyone he met whether they were the golf club grounds keepers, the courtesy clerks at the grocery store, or a nurse at the hospital. He was a man of many interests and vocations. Charlie began playing football in the peewee league and continued through high school. He began playing the tuba in sixth grade and continued for the rest of his life. He refereed high school football and basketball while living in Coeur d’Alene and later in Boise. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, water skiing and snow skiing. He started playing golf in high school and refined his skills throughout the years. After retiring, he began playing golf several times a week and he took up wood carving and watercolors.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Patty (Clair) Younger, his sons, Russell and Timothy Younger and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, IF and Lucille Younger and his sister, Carolyn Carpenter.
