Charles “Charlie” Allan Raivio, 85
Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Charles “Charlie” Allan Raivio, 85, of Columbus, Montana (formerly of the Silver Valley) passed away March 31, 2018 at the Beartooth Healthcare Community of Columbus, Montana. He was born August 26, 1932 in Hurley, Wisconsin; Charlie was the son of Charles and Ester (Tikala) Raivio.
Charlie attended and graduated from the Hurley High School of Hurley, Wisconsin. He married Irma M. Mazner on July 14, 1951 in Hurley; Irma passed away March 2, 2016.
Charlie had resided in the Silver Valley for 51 years. He had recently moved to Montana to be closer to his daughter Cindy.
Charlie was a miner/shift boss and had worked at the Star Mine and Lucky Friday Mine of Hecla Mining Company.
Charlie loved and enjoyed his family and the outdoors- especially fishing and hunting.
Charlie is survived by his daughter Cindy (Carl) Lofstedt of Absarokee, Montana; two grandchildren Corey (Iris) Raivio of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and Christy (Matthew) Neal of Las Vegas, Nevada; three great-grandchildren Ethan Raivio of Coeur d’ Alene, Benjamin Neal of Las Vegas, Nevada and Charlotte Neal also of Las Vegas; two sister-in-laws Louise Luoma and family of Saxon, Wisconsin and Darlene Kokely and family of Wisconsin; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irma and one son Rick Raivio who passed away in 2017.
