On February 2, 2007, Charles “Pat” C. Gary passed away at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Anne Leonora Gary (nee Pumphrey) for 67 years; Devoted father of Patricia Anne Gary Sadler and James Patrick Gary; Cherished grandfather of eight, great-grandfather of sixteen and great-great-grandfather of four. He was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters. Pat was born in Baltimore and lived in Glen Burnie since 1939. He graduated from Mount St. Joseph Catholic High School and worked for Maryland Ship Building & Dry Dock for 37 years before retiring. Pat belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the Toast Masters. He was also a member of Holy Trinity Church and an active member of their choir. Pat loved to sing and people loved to hear him sing. Quite often he was asked to sing at weddings. He had a beautiful voice and at one time belonged to a Barbershop Quartet. Pat also loved to go on long road trips with his wife. He thought nothing of driving a few hours to have lunch with some friends! He was a generous and thoughtful man who made friends everywhere he went. Pat was charismatic and always had a smile on his face. He also was an avid reader and very knowledgeable on many different subjects. An independent man, Pat loved to help others and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family and friends. He designed and built his own house and would generously offer to help others in any way he could. More than anything though, Pat loved to spend time with his family, his friends and his grandchildren.
