Charles C.B. Hadden, 65, of rural Jacksonville, IL lost his valiant 15 year battle to leukemia on Saturday night, August 9, 2008 at his home with his wife and daughters at his side.

He was born April 2, 1943 in Jacksonville, IL. He married Jacqueline Jane Hopkins on September 29, 1968 in Roodhouse, IL and she survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Angela Hadden Lindley (husband, Dan) of Jacksonville and Jennifer Moore (husband, Brian) of Jacksonville; a grandson, J. D. Hadden Lindley of Jacksonville; a step granddaughter, Kirsten Lindley of Beardstown; a sister, Sandy Milligan (husband, Carroll) of Clinton, IN; and several nieces and nephews including Kristi Decker Taylor (husband, Bill) of Ewing, MO. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patty Decker and Sharon Samples.

Mr. Hadden was a 1961 graduate of Jacksonville High School and served with the US Army. He farmed for a brief period prior to employment with Sunbeam Bread Company for two years and Oscar Meyer for two years. He then joined Morgan County Service Company where he was employed 27 years. He recently fulfilled his lifelong dream of operating a goat herd on his farm. He had a special love of raising goats and was a member of the Illinois Meat Goat Association and the United States Boer Goat Association.

He served 15 years as a member of the Morgan County Housing Authority and was a past president and a 15 year member of the Morgan County Fair Association. He was a life member of Amvets Post #100 in Jacksonville, Jacksonville Moose Lodge, and Woodson Masonic Lodge #1011. He enjoyed telling lies and sharing tall tales with friends over coffee at Hardees, B.J.â??s, Grandma Rudiâ??s, and the North Main Diner.
