Charles, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, one month short of his 99th birthday, at Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Newark, New Jersey, May 12, 1917, to Benjamin Cirlincione and Louella VanDyne Cirlincione, the middle child of 3 boys. He attended West Side High in Newark and Newark College of Engineering. He served with the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged due to hearing loss from being an artillery instructor. He married Elma Katherine (Kaye) Pruitt in 1946 and had 64 years with the love of his life until her passing in 2009. He was a 32nd degree Mason and dedicated member of the Legion of Honor at the Kena Shiners Temple in Fairfax, VA. Part owner of Pulse Engineering, he retired in 1990 and he and Kaye moved to Florida to be near their only child. After Kaye’s passing Charlie moved to Heritage Isle where he became the “Bocce Legend”, he could be seen on the bocce courts no less than seven times a week, 52 weeks a year. On March 24, 2016, the Heritage Isle Bocce Club honored Charlie at the annual Bocce Ball by naming the HI Bocce Courts in his honor. Charlie is survived by his daughter Charine Cirlin Lewis (Wally Sing), granddaughter Kimberly Kaye Rampp, great-granddaughter Brielle Rampp, loving niece Joellen Petronzi and Godson Donald Cirlin and other nieces and nephews.
