Charles B. “Bucky” Wolter, 89, Greensburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Morning Breeze Nursing Home in Greensburg. Born June 1, 1924 in Greensburg, he was the son of Henry and Lillie (Messerschmidt) Wolter. Charles graduated from Greensburg High School in 1942. He joined the Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. Charles worked as a salesman for Eckrich for 33 years before retiring. Charles was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Post 129 in Greensburg.

Charles was also an avid golfer, bowler, and lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was married to Frances Hellmich on August 8, 1953 and she preceded him in death on January 6, 1993. He then married Ruth (Haskamp) Koetter on June 18, 1994 and she preceded him in death on December 15, 2013. Charles is survived by 6 children; Cynthia (Daniel) Wickizer, Shelbyville, Steven A. Wolter (fiancé; Susan Farren), Indianapolis, Michael J. Wolter, Greensburg, Sandy (Jeff) Richardson, Westfield, Judy Wolter, Westfield, Tim Wolter, Indianapolis, 1 sister; Isabella Schoettmer, Greensburg, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, one step-son, James E. (Ruthie) Koetter, Greensburg, two step-daughters; Linda (Terry) Burton, Greensburg, Philomena (Tom) Banks, Cleves, OH, 9 step-grandchildren, and 17 step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife; Frances Wolter, 2nd wife; Ruth Wolter, and 5 brothers; Lawrence, Leander, Paul, Robert, and Leo Wolter.
