Charles Arthur Astle, 71, of Durham, beloved husband of the late Marilyn (Shevenelle) Astle for twenty-five years, passed away on Friday, April 10th at Wadsworth Glen Health Care. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ruth (Bengston) Astle. Charles graduated Middletown High School in 1961 and had lived in Durham since 1969. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. Charles worked for Tilcon for thirty-six years before retiring and was a proud member of Teamster Local 443 where he served ten years as the Steward. Charles is survived by two sons, Craig Astle and his wife, Rena of Portland and Jason Astle and his wife, Denise of Durham; a stepson, Neil Clark and his wife, Meg of PA and their daughter, Grace; two sisters, Patricia Kobylenski of Deep River and Dorothy Pandolfi and her husband, Ernest of Cromwell; several nieces and nephews and childhood friends, Anthony and Jill Matterazzo. Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Ronald Kobylenski.
