Charles A. Pfretzschner, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 91 on Monday, October
28, 2019.
Charles was born on May 15, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to Paul and Mathilda Pfretzschner.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of 68 years, daughter Carol (Van) Page, son Robert (Lauren)
Pfretzschner, grand children Jamie (Andy) Mills, Evan (Lauren) Pfretzschner, Christopher (Fiancée
Meredith Mills) Page, great granddaughters, Alyssa and Elliot, sister, Dorothy Werner, and nieces and
nephews.
He received his mechanical engineering degrees from Cornell University and the University of Southern
California, earning his professional engineers license in Control Systems Engineering. He worked for
Union Carbide, TRW, and IBM.
Charles served in the US ARMY during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany from 1952 to 1954
rising to the rank of 1st LT.
With diverse interests, from raising homing pigeons in his youth, to deep sea fishing after moving to
Boca Raton, his greatest passion was his work where he devoted most of his energy. After retirement
from IBM, he formed a design and engineering company, Custom Application Products, in the early 90s.,
working with inventors and as well as companies on many projects from inception to final product.
He also had a great passion for food and had an unbelievable capacity for consumption without gaining
so much as a pound!
