Charles E. Alexander, age 88 of Irondale, AL passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church of Irondale. He retired from Alabama Power after 42 years of service as an Electrical Lineman. Charles received numerous meritorious service awards while he was an employee for Alabama Power. In retirement he was a master craftsman and woodworker. He was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in France during WWII. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Grady Alexander; mother, Cora Ramsey Alexander; one sister, Kate Alexander Keith; one brother, John Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Hildred Josephine “Jo” McWaters Alexander; daughter, Wanda Alexander Banks (Timothy); Grandchildren: Allison R. Banks, R. Abigail Banks Brandenburg (Keith); great-grandson, Charles Edward Brandenburg.
