Charles Albert Kasdorf

 United States

  • Date Of Birth: June 17, 1922
  • Date Of Death: August 17, 2011
  • State: Arizona

At 89 years young, Charlie Kasdorf died at his home in Alameda, California.  He was born in Colfax, Washington, growing up on a farm and eventually going to Spokane to attend business school.  In Seattle he fell in love with Jacqueline Logan and in 1946 they married and moved to Alameda.

Work and daily life was energized with frequent car rides and Charlie’s family explored the West coast from Mexico to Canada.  He developed a passion for driving which lasted the rest of his life.

An avid stamp collector, he drove all over the country to attend first day stamp ceremonies and stamp shows.  He was an active member of several stamp clubs and associations, serving in various offices, as well as editor and publisher of club newsletters.

On August 24, 2011 in Alameda, friends, neighbors and co-workers celebrate an amazing and active life well lived:  that of Charles Albert Kasdorf.  His surviving family, daughter Joellen Kasdorf; son-in-law William Fernandes; daughter Charlene Kasdorf; niece Cheryl Kasdorf Johnson and her husband Barry Johnson; and Lee Wells are grateful for all the people who touched Charlie’s life.  We are also grateful he touched theirs.

The road between here and there won’t be the same without him, and neither will we.
