Charles Albert Funkhouser, 83 died Thursday January 24, 2013 in Franklin. He was a resident of New Whiteland. Charles was born August 24, 1929 in Indianapolis to Horace and Geraldine (Rowan) Funkhouser. He married Patricia Navert on  July 15, 1956 in Evansville. They were married for 56 years.

He was an US Army Veteran. Charles worked for 31 ½ years at Western Electric retiring in 1984. He also worked for the Johnson County Senior Services and was an Indianapolis Star Newspaper Carrier. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed bowling, coaching little league baseball in Whiteland, and being a Cub Scout Leader. He was a member of the Whiteland 50+ Club.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Funkhouser, New Whiteland, two children David (Carol) Funkhouser, Needham, and Cheryl Funkhouser, Texas, one sister Joyce Funkhouser, Indianapolis, two grandchildren Carrie(Shane)Pitts, Greenwood and Bradley Funkhouser, Whiteland and three grandchildren Taylor Funkhouser, Gabriel and Carrington Pitts. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Geneva Spratt and Dorothy Lawson.
