Charles A. “Tink” Smith, 80, of Eldred Twp., was born Oct. 24, 1930, and died Nov. 15, 2010, at Williamsport Hospital.
He went out to Las Vegas in 1969 and worked on construction for Nevada Savings & Loan. He owned and operated a large Chickenette. In returning home to Williamsport, he worked for Lowery Electric for 11 years. Then, he was employed by Shearer Industrial where he retired from. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren. He enjoyed building lawn furniture and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Richard and Raymond; a son, Jeffrey; and his parents, John Joseph Smith and Francis Mae (Sharar) Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon A (Broome) Smith; a daughter, Dawn A. (Smith) McStay of Williamsport; and four sons, Paul (Cindy) Young of Williamsport, Gary A. Smith of Williamsport, PVT. Ryan A. Smith of Ft. Rutgers, Ala.; and Robert A. Smith of Williamsport; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister, Joanie (Smith) Philpot of Ariz.
