Charles A. Rose, 90, of Holiday City Carefree, Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at home. Born in Paterson, NJ, he lived in Passaic, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 35 years ago.

Charles was a Sheriff’s Officer for the Passaic Sheriff’s Department for 20 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Rose was a US Navy WWII Veteran, attaining the rank of Fire Controlman First Class. Charles was a life member and past Commander of the VFW Post 7165, Clifton, NJ, Past President of the Police Benevolent Association for 2 years, and was a member of the Police & Fireman’s Association, Brick, NJ.

He was predeceased by his son, Charles A. Rose, in 1974.

Charles is survived by his wife of 70 years Lenora (nee Reimer), 2 sons and daughters in law Ronald R. & Robin Rose of Medford Lakes, NJ, and Robert A. & Jill Rose of Highland Lakes, NJ, 5 grandchildren Derek Rose, Richard Rose, Eric Peine, Nicholas Tierney, Jonathan Tierney and his wife Sue, and one great-grandchild John Tierney.
