Charleen, 81, entered the presence of her Lord and was reunited with her husband, Kenneth, on February 24, 2018 while at home surrounded by her loving family. Her life was filled with a deep, generous love for her beloved husband and her four children, their spouses, her eight grandchildren and her great-grandson.
Charleen was born July 3, 1936 in Fair Haven, Vermont. Upon graduation from high school, Charleen started a career at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, Connecticut. There she met her lifelong love, Kenneth L. Kirkland, of Anderson, South Carolina. They married on November 2, 1957, and subsequently moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to start their family.
In 1967, the family moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida for Ken’s work at Kennedy Space Center.
Charleen is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her mother Leda St. Onge Bartlett, her father Charles Bartlett, her brother Charles Bartlett Jr., and sisters Doris Bartlett and Jacqueline Medina. Charleen is survived by her son Brian Kirkland (Amy), daughter Laurie Meholic (Keith), daughter Anne Marie Pierce, daughter Mary Kirkland, sister Vivian LaCasse, grandchildren Brian Jr., Alexandra, Victoria, Mikayla, Michael, Travis, Charlie, Olivia, and great-grandson Jackson.
