Chad was born on March 11, 1975 in Grinnell to Harold and Kathy (Coomer) Wells, Jr. Chad grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1993. He attended college at the University of Northern Iowa for one year and then later received his degree in Accounting from Upper Iowa University. Chad had worked at the Maytag Company from 1997-2005. Since 2007, he had been a Mutual Fund Accountant at Principal. On May 7, 1997, Chad married Megan McCuen, and together they had two sons: Ian and Brodie. After their divorce, Chad was married to Angela Sinclair on September 19, 2009. They were making their home in Altoona.
