Mr. Cedric Lamar Leggett, Cedric Lamar Leggett was born December 11, 1981, in Durham, NC. on Ft. Bragg Military Base to William Leggett and Debra Hicks Leggett. Cedric was known by many as “Red” or “Ced.” Ced was a one-of-a-kind husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and true friend.
Ced graduated in 2000 from Tri-Cities High School, where he went on to work and provide for his family. Ced found a passion at Pacesetter’s where he worked for the last 8 years as an independent contractor. He also owns his own business, Leggett Transportation LLC.
Ced was a die hard Atlanta Falcons fan, but was an overall sports fanatic.
On Monday, December 12, 2022, Ced received the call from God that it was time to come back to his heavenly home. Although Ced was not ready for this call and to leave his family, he followed God to the hills and died at Emory Midtown, Atlanta, GA.
Ced is survived by his wife of 11 years Melissa Searcy; two children: Ahdonis Leggett and Ahmirah Searcy; mother Debra Hicks Leggett; father William Leggett; brother Andre Leggett; sister Sabrina Leggett; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, both biological/non-biological family and many friends. Ced was preceded in death by his grandparents: Elijah B. Hicks, Mattie Lee Hicks, Carolyn D Leggett and Clarence Leggett.
Memories of Cedric’s life will always be cherished by his family and friends. Although Ced may not be with us… His memories, spirit, and love will live in our heart until we meet again!
