Cedric Jerome Smith, Sr. was born on September 6, 1973, in Hearne, Texas to his mother, Gloria D. Smith. He was an eight-pound baby who bought joy and happiness to his family. His mother was often teased because in her eyes, he could do no wrong. He was her “Golden Baby.” It is often said, “a woman cannot raise a man, but Gloria is credited with doing so with love, dedication, and patience. He was an only child and was spoiled rotten as a result. He shared a special closeness with his grandmother and loved spending summers in Hearne along with his cousins, Dana, Dominick, Tiffani, Sonya, Tish, and sometimes Turri. They all were able to enjoy country living. They were often teased by the neighborhood children because they thought they talked “proper.” None the less, they shared many happy and precious moments together during those summer vacations.
