Mr. Cecil was a veteran with the U.S. Army. He enjoyed going fishing and working in his garden. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorine Hicks; grandson, Shawn Hicks, step grandson, Terry Watson; parents, John Calvin and Lydia Hicks; brother, William Hicks; sisters, Jewell Magness, Ione Gilbreath, Ardithe Brown, Rosa Bee, Nora Burns, Bernice Roberts, Claris Johns, Mildred Hicks, Margie Nielsen, and Louise Hicks.
Survivors include his children, Linda Watson and husband, Paul of Rayville, Cecil Hicks of Hebert, Vicki Davis and husband, Jimmy “Bruiser” of Mangham, and Becky Dyer and husband, Wade of Mangham; grandchildren, Chris Mitchell and wife, Chelsea, Kim Stokes, and Tyler Davis; step grandson, Scott Watson and wife, Wana; great grandchildren, Christian, Larkin, Delaney, Kenzie, and Addie; step great grandson, Conner; sisters, Alice Caudle of Shreveport and Kathy Sanford of Rayville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
