Cecil Jones Echols, age 75, died on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at his residence in Luthersville, GA. He was born on August 1, 1936 in Tignall, GA to the late James Clifford Echols, Sr. & Ruby Collins Echols. After high school, he served in the United States Army 1958 until 1960. After working for International Harvester / Navistar for thirty-nine years, he retired and moved to Luthersville, Georgia. Mr. Echols became an active member with Habitat for Humanity, Meriwether County. It was his passion to help the less fortunate and he made his contributions with HFH for over twelve years. He was also a member of Alvaton Baptist Church in Gay, GA and a member of Flint River Woodcarvers. He is survived by wife of forty-five years, Sue Rowe Echols of Luthersville, GA; son, Jeffrey Echols & his wife Alicia of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Janet McCranie & her husband David of Senoia, GA; Jennifer Morse of Senoia, GA; brother, James Echols & his wife Martha of Washington, GA; sister, Dorothy Ponder & her husband Hubert of Ashburn, GA; grandchildren, Sean Morse, Stephanie Morse, Caitlyn McCranie, Collin Echols, Madeline Echols; nieces, nephews, and members of extended family.
