Cecil was a man who enriched the lives of all whom he encountered. He was born to Atlas and Lillian Marie Smith White on March 30, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois.  He departed this life on August 3, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital in Decatur, Alabama.  He was preceded in death by his father Atlas White and his grandfather the Reverend James Smith.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and attended Wayman Chapel AME Church. He spent his life generously giving to others by volunteering with Decatur Youth Services and the homeless shelters, just to name a few organizations.  

A veteran of two wars, Cecil served his country in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm and the Gulf War. He received several awards for his service, leadership, and dedication to his country.  After earning an Honorable discharge from the United States Army, he accepted employment at Limestone Correctional Facility as a Correctional Officer until his death.  He was a member of the Fraternity of Prince Hall Masons joining under Trowel Lodge No. 80 in Heidelberg Germany.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife Sharon; sons, Justin Bellamy (Chelsey), Jerone White, Jaylin White; stepdaughters, Taffena Fletcher (Lawson) and Denada Swopes; mother, Lillian White; grandmother, Carrie Smith;  sister, Elois Garth (Percy);  brother, Gregory White; granddaughters, Alexus Campbell, Brooklyn Bellamy,  A’marie Campbell, Lawryn Fletcher;  grandson, Briley Fletcher; niece  Shonika McCreless (Gregory); nephews, Deshuan Smith and Bryan Turner, and a host of  other relatives  and friends.
