Cecil Henry (Pete) McNair age 92 of Alpena departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. He was born May 23, 1920 at Osage, AR to William Felix and Clora Jane (Sisco) McNair. On May 23, 1946 he was united in marriage to Millie Faye (Morris) McNair. From this union was born two children, Roberta McNair McAlister and Ron McNair. Pete served in the United States Army from May 4, 1943 – February 1, 1946. He was a decorated WWll Veteran. Honors include WWll Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, AP Theater Ribbon, and Bronze Service Star. He was discharged with honorable mention. He was a lifelong resident of Carroll and Boone counties. Pete was a man with many talents and abilities. He repaired watches and clocks, worked in construction for many years for Ted Elkins Construction, worked many years for Wright Steel Company and his last most enjoyable work was in the vehicle field. Pete enjoyed restoring vehicles and most of all working for his son at Rons Auto Service until he retired at age 85. Pete was a much respected man by his family and also by the community he lived in. He was a super dad, terrific grandpa and wonderful father-in-law. He was so loved by all and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his wife Millie Faye McNair, brothers Herman, Sherman, Ott, Bill and JD McNair, sisters Verna Newman, Vina Ohler, Dorothy Carroll, Ruby Hand, Mable Bartlett, son-in-law Troy McAlister, granddaughter Sandra Bell, and great-grandson Bryn Todd Raver. Pete is survived by wife Lucy McNair of Osage, AR, children Roberta McAlister and Ron McNair and wife Phyllis of Alpena, four grandchildren Cindy Ramsey and husband Arlis, Todd McAlister, Jeff McNair and wife Tammy, Falisha (McNair) Valentin and husband Michael, ten great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
