Cecil Edward Burchfield July 2, 1922- October 26, 2015, Cecil Edward Burchfield passed away peacefully at Piedmont Newnan Hospital on October 26, 2015, due to complications from pneumonia. He was 93. Mr. Burchfield was born on July 2, 1922, in Maryville, Tennessee to his parents, Julius and Nora Burchfield.
On November 23, 1946, he married the love of his life, Adra Marie Hatcher, and together they shared two children. Cecil proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years, and honorably retired with the rank of Master Sargent E-7. Mr. Burchfield was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He never met a stranger, and never forgot a face. He possessed genuine qualities of love, compassion, understanding, and fairness. He enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, and reading. His wonderful stories, witty sayings, and comical facial expressions will forever live on in the hearts of those that were closest to him.
Mr. Burchfield is survived by his two granddaughters, Kelly Sims (Jermon) of Newnan and Alysia Altizer of Atlanta. He is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Kourtnie Harris.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Adra M. Burchfield; his son, Terry E. Burchfield; and his daughter, Nora E. Burchfield.
