Mr. Cecil “Doc” Whaley, age 78, of Lanett passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Whaley was born in West Point, Georgia on August 16, 1938 to the late Jake Whaley, Sr. and Lucindy McDowell Whaley. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorsey Whaley Green.
He was a member of the Lanett Church of God.
He worked for and retired from Ampex in Opelika after 26 years of service. After retirement, he was a cattle farmer and a builder.
Mr. Whaley was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed life, music, and laughter.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Whaley; son, Jeff (Phyllis) Whaley, Salem, AL.; grandson, Gregory Whaley, Mount Juliet, TN.; brother, Jake Whaley, Jr.; sister, Evelyn Roberts, Fayetteville, NC; 5 nieces and 1 nephew.
