SALEM – Cecil Allan Chamberlain, age 69 of Carlsbad, California and Salem, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019. Cecil will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and positive outlook. He was born January 3, 1950 in Salem to Floyd Chamberlain and Betty Jean (Billups) Greathouse.
A 1969 graduate of Salem High School and former teacher there, Cecil moved to California in 1978 where he worked in instructional design, retiring as a Senior Project Manager at Hitachi Data Systems. He was a proud alumnus of Kent State and Bowling Green. Over the last five years, Cecil and his wife took great joy in restoring an 1826 farmhouse on Cleveland Street, their part-time residence.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Roberta “Robbie” (Fornesi) Chamberlain; a son, Jack Robert Chamberlain of Carlsbad; a daughter, Abbey Chamberlain Brach of Los Angeles; a son-in-law, Jared Brach; granddaughter, Nola Jean Brach; two brothers, Robert Chamberlain of Palm Desert, California and Thomas Chamberlain of Brunswick, Maine.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Mary Lynn “Mitzy” Whitcomb preceded him in death.
