Cathy M. Contreras, 47, passed away on May 11, 2007 in Alamogordo. She was born on May 7, 1960 in Tularosa, NM to Manuel R. and Elena (Carabajal) Duran. Cathy worked for Alamogordo Federal Savings and Loan Association as the Accounts Payable Clerk.
Survivors include her husband, Ruben A. Contreras of the family home; daughter, Vanessa R. Contreras; grandson, Fabian M. Contreras-Pacheco; mother, Elena C. Duran all of Tularosa; sisters, Juanita Sandoval and husband Jose of Alamogordo, Teresa Guilez and husband Pat, Veronica Duran, all of Tularosa, Patsy Gonzales of Albuquerque, Dolores Estrada and husband Tommy of Ft. Worth, TX, Diane Duran, Sylvia Duran both of Tularosa; brothers, Timmy Duran, Manuel Duran, Sam Duran and wife Lillian all of Tularosa, Andy Duran and wife Corina of La Luz; brothers-in-law, Eusebio Contreras and wife Lydia of Albuquerque, Jimmy Contreras and wife Celia of Davenport, IA, Eddie Contreras and wife Terry of Albuquerque, Eloy Contreras and wife Betty of Rosenberg, TX; Sisters-in-law, Sandy Beaty and husband Larry of Tularosa, Romona Benetiz and husband Naya, Diana Contreras and fiancé Joe Ortega, Becky Contreras of Alamogordo, and Rachel Contreras of fiancé Mike of Rio Rancho; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Duran, her father and mother-in-law, Santiago and Ysidora Contreras, brother, George Duran, niece Genevieve Guilez, nephews, Joshua Contreras and Gregory Estrada, sisters-in-law, Mary Sarmiento and Cecilia Morales and husband Filomon.
A Rosary will be recited by the family at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church.
