Cathryn “Cathy” Gayle Patton courageously completed her purpose on Earth on September 13, 2021, in Oklahoma City at the age of 73.
The next few years taught Cathy strength, resilience, and a boldness to continue through the trials of life with a genuine smile. She moved to Yukon, OK with her young son Jordan to be closer to her siblings who had previously settled in the Oklahoma City area. A single Mom, she supported Jordan throughout his schooling and made sure to give him everything he needed, including a spiritual foundation at the Methodist Church. When Jordan spread his independent wings, Cathy was blessed to lean on her “tribe” of ladies whom she considered as close as family.
Cathy grew from a strong work ethic early in life, but learned how to enjoy her job with purpose. She leaned into her business degree working for Ross Perot’s company, Electronic Data Systems, selling debit cards to banks all across Oklahoma and southern Kansas. Her success came from her gift of interacting with people. Cathy’s kind and friendly demeanor created friends with everyone she met along the way. This confident and inviting disposition promoted her to the perfect job: the public relations representative for YNB bank. Cathy represented this local foundational business well, and enjoyed being the bank’s “face” in the Yukon community.
Cathy not only represented a foundation in the community, but her generosity, participation, and volunteering spirit made her a foundational person in the community. She served on multiple philanthropic organizations, from Omicron Kappa and Manna Pantry to Compassionate Hands and the Ladies Library Club. The Yukon Chamber of Commerce voted for her for two different terms as Chamber President, and a Board member for multiple years.
Cathy’s legacy will continue to live on in the community of Yukon she loved, and the people whom she cared for.
Cathy Patton is preceded in death by her parents H.R. and Leona Moore, and brother Ragon Moore. Cathy leaves behind her son Jordan Patton and wife Brandi, and their four children Hunter Bell, Tyler Patton, Jace Patton, and Adyson Patton; brothers Gary Moore and wife Diane, and Barry Moore and wife Cindy; sisters Louise Fox, and CeCe Tuttle and husband Tom; sister-in-law Jackie Moore; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
