Cathleen was born on March 22, 1955 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Willis J. and Alice M. Maloy Coates.
She is survived by her former husband Eric Olson of Galesburg; 1 daughter Jessica Olson of East Moline; 2 brothers John Coates of San Jose, CA and Jim Coates of Denver, CO; 2 sisters: Anne (Bob) Crough of Salina, KS and Mary Berg of Denver, CO, 1 grandson Aidan Hancock; 2 nieces Lori and Mandy; and 1 nephew Brian.. Cathleen graduated from Knox College in 1977. She worked as the director immigration for Catholic Charities in Lafayette, LA, she then worked for Rick Ramirez Consulting specializing in social work, and she last worked as an executive assistant for IAAI (Independent Accounting Associates of Illinois). She was an officer and member of Pi Beta Phi Alumni Association at Knox College, a volunteer at Safe Harbor, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
