Catherine Sterlein, 99, of Fountain Hill passed away peacefully on August 18, 2022 at Saucon Valley Manor. Born in Hungary she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine(Obermeier) Sterlein. She truly experienced the America dream at the age of 14, as she sailed into New York Harbor past the Statue of Liberty, landing at Ellis Island. Catherine settled in Bethlehem where she was a sewing machine operator for over 50 years at Sure Fit. She was a member of Holy Ghost Church; there she helped make pierogies, noodles, and doing anything that benefited the parish. Volunteering at St. Luke’s Hospital and helping others was an experience she looked forward to weekly. Catherine’s life was one of caring, sharing, and giving.
Survivors: Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her niece Joan McDonough, nephews Andrew and Michael Zonay, and great nieces and nephews who have fond memories of a wonderful lady. She was predeceased by brother Joseph Sterlein Sr, sister Theresa Zonay, and nephew Joseph Sterlein Jr.
