Catherine R. Yeakel, 67, of Quakertown, died Sun. Dec. 31 in St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Dean R. Yeakel. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Richard & Celia (Bender) Reed. She was a 1968 graduate of Pennridge High School and worked in banking a number of years, retiring from Quakertown National Bank. A master quilter, she was a past president of Keystone Quilters. Surviving with her husband are sons Derek, wife Janelle of Quakertown and David, wife Kelli of Susquehanna; grandchildren Larissa, Rubi, & Luci; siblings Carol Cope, Paul Effrig, Susan Russell, Allison Russell, Cindy Leach, and Mickie. She was predeceased by a son Darin and sister Deborah Long.
