Catherine “Nadine” Frederiksen, 70, of St. James, formerly of Walker, left us unexpectedly Friday, February 28, 2014. She was born the daughter of John “Rufus” and Irene Payne on August 20, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Nadine spent her childhood in West Des Moines, Iowa. She attended West Des Moines Valley High School and graduated in 1961. Nadine was a member of the Eastern Star and the T.T.T. She married Robert “Fred” Frederiksen on May 26, 1967 and a year later they moved to Walker. Nadine enjoyed horses, county music and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Irene M. and John “Rufus” Payne, her husband; Robert “Fred” H. Frederiksen and her daughter; Laura A. Frederiksen.
Those she leaves behind are her daughter; Debra Frederiksen of Walker, son; John Frederiksen and fiancé Jessica Westman of St. James, a brother; Jack Payne, granddaughters; Sarah and Presley Frederiksen and grandsons; Christian and Aaden Frederiksen.
