Catherine M. Smink, 91, of Jackson New Jersey passed away on December 30, 2018 in her home surrounded by the people she loved. Catherine was born September 2, 1927 in Philadelphia. She was retired from the NJDMV where she worked reception and often laughed about sending the majority of the people to line four. For countless people, she was the best part of the trip to the DMV.
She had four children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren all of whom had the massive fortune of having her shape our hearts and worlds. She was bold, outspoken and unapologetically herself. Her laughter filled the room along with the love she had to give, and always gave, even in her final moments. She lived for her family and her family will forever live knowing the love of their Mother, their Mimi.
Catherine is survived by her loving daughters, Cheryl Zengel (Shawn O’Connor), Heidi Taylor (Gary); her grandchildren Melissa Paley (Tom), Brian Zengel (Jen) and Gerard Zengel, Zackary and Kylie Taylor; and her great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Jaryn, and Ashlyn, Paley and Jack Zengel. She is preceded in death by her Husband Howard Smink, her Children, Susan Kimmitt, John Tilkey and Gerard Zengel; and granddaughter Jamie Zengel.
