Catherine M. “Kay” (Bruce) Saucier, 79, of Upton, died Sunday morning, July 29, 2007, in Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of John A. “Jack” Saucier, who died March 9th after 58 years of marriage.
Mrs. Saucier was born in Milford, a daughter of the late Frank J. and Kathryn (Lang) Bruce. She was a 1946 graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School in Milford and had lived in Upton for 58 years. She worked at Archer Rubber and Sears in Milford before taking time off to raise her family, and then was a cashier at the former Iandoli’s Supermarket in Milford for 11 years. She retired from Feecon Corp. in Westboro in 1990.
A communicant of Holy Angels Parish who sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Sodality; she was also a founding member, past president, and past treasurer of the Upton Bloomer Girls; and a past president of the George L. Wood VFW Past Ladies’ Auxiliary.
She leaves three daughters, Marie F. McMahon and her husband Joe of Duluth, GA, Annette E. Richards and her husband Don of Upton, and Suzanne E. Irons and her husband Bill of Mendon; one son, Stephen J. Saucier and his wife Shirley of Millbury; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was also the grandmother of the late Emily S. Irons and the sister of the late Mary A. E. Aldrich and Frances E. Caruso.
