Catherine E. “Big Red” Lampe, 56, of Washburn passed away peacefully on Sunday evening May 20, 2012 at Snyder Village in Metamora.
She was born on July 18, 1955 in St. Louis, Mo the daughter of Anthony and Clementine Stenger Lampe.
Surviving is her parents of Black, MO. one daughter Elizabeth (Michael) Grebner and one son John Farmer both of Washburn.
Also surviving is one granddaughter Antoinette Grebner, as well as 5 brothers Ed (Lisa) Lampe of Pilot, Knob, MO; Matthew (Mary Ann) Lampe; John Lampe both of St. Louis, MO; Dennis Lampe of San Antonio, TX; Anthony (Juana) Lampe of Sterling, VA. Further surviving are four sisters Sue Lampe of St. Louis, Mo; Janet (Steve) Graff of San Antonio, TX; Julie (Steve) Ringer of St. Genevieve, MO and Mary Lampe of St. Louis, MO. She also has 27 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews
One brother Martin Lampe and one nephew Martin Lampe JR. preceded her in death.
She was a CNA at Snyder Village for the past 17 years; last working March 15, 2012. She was an avid piano player, was a collector of frogs, and loved to read. She had a wonderful taste for unusual foods.
